Design Explorers With Project Osmosis

Public Programs

  • Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs & Special Events
  • Project Osmosis

June 2018–March 2019

In alignment with Art Design Chicago, Project Osmosis presents two programs geared towards youth audiences incorporating Chicago’s design history and hands-on learning opportunities. The programs also introduce student participants to careers and professionals in design and the applied arts.

“Design Explorers Chicago Style” and “Inclusion by Design: The Future is Bright” are summer and fall/winter programs (respectively) serving high-school students at the Chicago Cultural Center with classes taught by design and branding professionals/instructors, and guest presenters. The program includes hands-on experiences and museum field trips, where students will also meet professional staff (curators and designers) and participate in workshops. Participants will work with staff at the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events and other cultural venues to develop design-related projects.
