Bill Walker: Urban Griot

Bill Walker: Urban Griot is a 103-page color catalog documenting the exhibition of the same name. Like the exhibition, this monograph examines Walker's Chicago-based practice and his contributions as a political thinker, social activist, and skilled artist. Essays are written by notable Walker scholars including the exhibition's curator and artist Juarez Hawkins, author Jeff Huebner, founder of Diasporal Rhythms Patric McCoy, Chicago State University Distinguished Professor Victor Sorell, Co-Founder of the Chicago Public Art Group John Pitman Weber, and art historian Rebecca Zorach. The publication begins with a forward from Allison Peters Quinn, Director of Exhibition & Residency Programs at Hyde Park Art Center. The publication is designed by JNL Design and published by Hyde Park Art Center.
