Join the Museum of Modern Art for a program planned in collaboration with Charles White student and contemporary artist Kerry James Marshall. Through a close examination of selected works of art, this program advances understanding of White’s place in art history by exploring key examples of his conceptual and technical virtuosity, and his role as an influential educator.

In addition to Marshall, presenters include Esther Adler (Associate Curator of Drawing and Prints, MoMA), W.J.T Mitchell (Gaylor Donnelley Distinguished Service Professor, University of Chicago), and Courtney J. Martin (Deputy Director and Chief Curator, Dia Art Foundation). A panel discussion follows the individual presentations.
